Points to Remember from the AIM/AIGA Workshop (11/2)

On Resume Building:

- remember your points of identity (PODs)
>> What makes you you?

- up to you if you want an objective
>> This would be 2-3 sentences explaining what you want out of life/you job. Include your chosen discipline and industry.

- make it clear and simple - the reader only has 20 seconds with you!
>> use bullet points, strong words, nothing too personal

- action words v. passive words (examples)

Designed, Created, Directed, Initiated
Defined, Established
Communicated

- ask someone professional that works in your desired industry to do an informal interview with you--make it a mock interview

- email AND send a personal thank-you note via mail (maybe even buy one at our AIGA swap meet next semester!)
